Welcome to The Lighthouse Club (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our mobile application, website, audio content, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY: The Lighthouse Club is designed for children and must be used under active parental supervision. Parents and guardians are solely responsible for monitoring their child’s use of all features of the Service, including the AI Bible Chat. These Terms do not replace parental oversight.

1. Eligibility

The Service is intended for use by parents or legal guardians on behalf of their minor children. To create an account, you must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). Children may use the Service only under the account and supervision of a parent or guardian.

2. Account Registration

To access the Service, you must create a parent or guardian account. By registering, you agree to:

•       Provide accurate, complete, and current information

•       Keep your login credentials secure and confidential

•       Accept full responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

•       Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or violate these Terms.

3. Consent to Terms and Privacy Policy

During account registration, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy by checking a box. This confirmation is required before you may access the Service.

By checking that box, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of any child who will use the Service, and that you accept these Terms on behalf of yourself and your child. Your agreement is logged with a timestamp in our system.

4. Description of Service

The Lighthouse Club provides the following features:

•       Audiostories: Bible-based audio stories for children ages 2–13

•       Games: Faith-based interactive games for children

•       Memory Verses: Daily Bible memory verse activities

•       AI Bible Chat: An AI-powered chat feature restricted to Bible-related questions only (see Section 7)

•       Reward System: In-app rewards tied to completed activities and progress

•       Weekly Parent Activity Log: A summary of your child’s in-app activity delivered to your registered email address each week

Features are subject to change. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.

5. Free and Premium Content

The Service offers both free and premium content:

•       Free Tier: A selection of audiostories, games, and memory verses available to all registered users at no cost

•       Premium Tier: Full access to all content, features, and the AI Bible Chat, available by subscription

Premium content is visible within the app but locked until an active subscription is confirmed. Access to premium content will be removed if a subscription lapses or is canceled.

6. Subscriptions and Billing

a. Subscription Plans

We currently offer the following subscription plan:

•       Monthly Subscription — $7.99 per month, billed every 30 days

Additional plans may be introduced in the future. Pricing is displayed at the time of purchase.

b. Billing Through Apple App Store

All subscriptions purchased through the iOS app are processed and managed by Apple Inc. through the App Store. By subscribing through the App Store, you also agree to Apple’s Terms of Service. The Lighthouse Club does not have access to your payment details and is not responsible for billing errors that originate with Apple.

c. Auto-Renewal

All subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled before the renewal date. By subscribing, you authorize Apple (or the applicable app store) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

d. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time:

•       If purchased through the Apple App Store: cancel through your iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions

•       Cancellation stops future billing but does not refund the current billing period

•       Access to premium content continues until the end of the paid period

e. Refund Policy

All payments are non-refundable unless required by applicable law. Partial subscription periods are not refunded. For purchases made through the Apple App Store, refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple.

If you believe you were charged in error by The Lighthouse Club, contact us within 7 days of the charge at contact@thelighthouseclub.org.

f. Free Trials (If Offered)

If a free trial is offered, you may cancel before the trial ends to avoid charges. If not canceled, billing begins automatically at the end of the trial period.

7. AI Bible Chat Feature

Please read this section carefully. It contains important limitations and liability disclosures.

The Lighthouse Club includes an AI-powered chat feature (“AI Bible Chat”) available to premium subscribers. The following terms apply specifically to this feature:

a. Scope and Restrictions

The AI Bible Chat is conditioned and designed to respond only to questions related to the Bible and biblical topics. It is programmed to decline questions outside this scope. However, no AI system is infallible, and we cannot guarantee that every response will be accurate, complete, age-appropriate, or consistent with any particular theological tradition.

b. Not a Substitute for Pastoral or Professional Guidance

Responses generated by the AI Bible Chat are for educational and faith-based engagement purposes only. They do not constitute theological counseling, pastoral advice, mental health guidance, or any form of professional service.

c. Parental Supervision Required

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their child’s use of the AI Bible Chat at all times. We strongly encourage parents to use this feature alongside their child and to review conversations regularly. By enabling your child’s access to this feature, you accept responsibility for monitoring its use.

d. Limitation of Liability for AI Responses

The Lighthouse Club is not liable for any inaccuracies, omissions, theological inconsistencies, or unintended responses generated by the AI Bible Chat. Use of this feature is at your own discretion and risk.

e. Data Processing

Queries submitted through the AI Bible Chat are transmitted to a third-party AI provider for processing. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on how this data is handled.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

•       Copy, distribute, reproduce, or resell any content from the Service

•       Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the platform

•       Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

•       Upload, transmit, or introduce harmful, malicious, or offensive content

•       Attempt to circumvent content restrictions or access premium content without a valid subscription

•       Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice or refund.

9. Intellectual Property

All content provided through the Service — including audiostories, audio recordings, scripts, artwork, games, memory verse content, logos, and branding — is owned by The Lighthouse Club or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial household use only. No other rights are granted. You may not reproduce, redistribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content without our express written permission.

10. Children’s Privacy and COPPA Compliance

The Lighthouse Club complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). All accounts are created and managed by parents or guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. 11. Parental Responsibility

Parents and guardians are fully responsible for their child’s use of the Service. This includes but is not limited to:

•       Supervising all in-app activity, including the AI Bible Chat

•       Ensuring the content is appropriate for their household and their child’s age and maturity

•       Monitoring the weekly activity log delivered by email

•       Contacting us promptly if any content or behavior is observed that appears inappropriate

The tools we provide, including weekly activity reports, are intended to support parental oversight — not replace it.

12. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers including Apple (for subscription billing) and an AI technology provider (for the AI Bible Chat). We are not responsible for the practices, terms, or reliability of third-party services. Use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, specific results from use of the Service, or that the Service will be free of viruses or other harmful components.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, The Lighthouse Club, its owners, officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages arising from the AI Bible Chat feature, content accessed through the Service, or any interruption of service.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion if you violate these Terms, we suspect fraud or abuse, or we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any prepaid subscription fees.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document. For material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Texas.
